Resorts of Tourmalet just 5 minutes away or Luz Ardiden at 25 minutes... it's up to you to choose your ski resort or spa resort to keep fit. The choice is yours which runs you wish to descend unless, of course, you wish to try Gavarnie which is about 40 minutes drive away. )

) The Néouvielle Reserve or National Park. Wonderful family or more sporty hikes to be made in the Néouvielle massif, towards the Aubert or Aumar lakes... pasture farming is practiced a lot and you will see many herds of cows and flocks of sheep mingling among the marmots. A must to visit are the cirques of Troumouse, Estaubé and Gavarnie, the Brèche de Roland and for the more sporty, the Vignemale. )

Cycling enthusiasts... The Tourmalet, Aspin, Ardiden... you can follow the tracks of the most famous competitors of the Tour de France... the Col du Tourmalet or the ascent to Ardiden on your doorstep. Or try the the Lienz forest with it's footpaths and bridle paths whether on foot or horseback. You are in the middle of the countryside here. Need to do something different ? From March you can try trout fishing in the streams and lakes. Try paragliding, canyonning or rafting... Or admire the exceptional surroundings from the Pic du Midi, accessible by cable car at La Mongie. Just a few kilometers away in the valley of Argelès-Gazost, Donjon des Aigles birds of prey in Beaucens and the colline aux marmottes animal park from spring to autumn. 15 kms further down the road, Lourdes and it's marian city welcoming pilgrims and visitors at the foot of the fortified castle all year round. )
